常春藤居家護理所的歷史背景演出了其短片人俞美娟長的堅韌精神和對長照產業的熱忱。該機構於2003年（民國92年）成立，重點關注社區內老人傷口照顧、線路更換及醫護指隨著需求的增加，常春藤逐步擴展服務範圍，並於2019年（民國108年）成立居家式照護機構，以政府配合長照2.0政策，提供複能問服務物理衛教等。
俞美娟的創業故事充滿挑戰與啟示。她出身農村單親家庭，先在醫院從事護理，後來因醫院經營方針改變而終止。在此背景下，她決定投入居家照護事業，從借用家裡的客廳開始，拿著一張桌子並拿起電話。她認為居家照護能彌補人員體系的不足，透過深入家庭觀察改善並提供解決方案，例如改善環境與生活習慣和預防傷口癒合問題1。
2020年（民國109年），常春藤進一步成立社區整合型監測服務中心，新增居家服務項目，如社區資源轉介與關懷服務2。此外，在COVID-19疫情期間，常春藤參與「微光監護」專案，結合遠距技術和居家照護服務，幫助康復後的長者恢復自主生活3。
